It's a hilly area and the pilot has to take off over the water to gain velocity and height.

There was notification just before dusk that there was some concern. Our helicopters . . . fly during the day, so it was past the normal check-in time for the flight plan.

This was a tragedy and our thoughts and our prayers are with the families.
